The orange (Citrus sinensis) is a citrus fruit created in India, from the crossing of the grapefruit with the tangerine. Aromatherapy with orange oil reduces anxiety and relieves moderate symptoms of depression and stress.
These essential oils are obtained by cold pressing of the fruit peel, so it is possible to contaminate them with pesticides and other chemicals used in conventional farming. In addition, the use of these chemicals alters the composition of the essential oil, namely the amount of aldehydes, minor components which are still important in determining their quality.
