Natural Eyeliner with 2 ingredients only!

Have you ever wondered how eyeliners that you buy at perfume shops are made?

As with food, reading the ingredients on the cosmetics packaging is crucial. Many cosmetic products contain unpronounceable long words in the list of ingredients that in most cases represent ingredients harmful to our skin, and consequently to our health, such as parabens, silicones and petrolatum.

What is the solution then? As always, the answer is Nature! 🙂

In this article I propose you to make your own natural skin-friendly, animal-friendly and environmentally-friendly eyeliner in an easy way, with two ingredients only!

For this recipe you will only need capsules of activated charcoal and coconut oil.

Activated charcoal is a product obtained from natural sources, usually from coconut shells burned at high temperatures and in the presence of little oxygen.

Activated charcoal is also used in case of food or chemical poisoning, reflux and to eliminate toxins from our body. If you buy a bottle of capsules, you can always use the ones left for other purposes. Alternatively, you can save them for the next time you prepare your natural eyeliner.

Coconut oil, due to its oily nature, will be the ingredient that combined with activated charcoal powder will give the same result as a commercial eyeliner. Coconut oil is also capable of solidifying, which allows us to easily store it in a glass jar and carry it with us in a handbag, and on the other hand, to be used as a black eye pencil when we don’t want it as liquid as an eyeliner.

Here it is the recipe! 😉

BLACK EYELINER

Ingredients:

  • 6 Capsules of Activated Charcoal
  • 4 Teaspoons of Solid Coconut Oil
  • 1 Wooden Skewer
  • 1 Eyeliner Brush

I use Ecotools brushes which are good value for money, 100% cruelty free and vegan (PETA certified), and they are made with recycled bamboo and recycled materials. Check them out HERE

To obtain a black eye pencil, the proportions vary as follows:

  • 6 Capsules of Activated Charcoal
  • 3 Teaspoons of Solid Coconut Oil
  • 1 Wooden Skewer
  • 1 Eyeliner Brush

Preparation:

1. In a bowl, open all the capsules and extract the activated charcoal powder;

2. Add solid coconut oil gradually, mixing everything with a wooden skewer you normally use for BBQ, until obtaining a creamy and little liquid mixture. As we mix the ingredients, coconut oil will heat up and become more liquid;

3. Transfer the mixture to a small jar which will be the final container for your natural eyeliner. Choose a glass jar with lid as it’s the most suitable container for when we travel and we want to take it with us;

4. To apply the eyeliner, first check the state of the content of the jar. In Spring and Summer the eyeliner will be in the liquid state, but in Autumn and Winter it will be in the solid state, so we need to warm up with hot water from the tap or the teakettle (in this case, warm up for 30-60 seconds). It will be ready when you see it turns liquid;

5. CPlace the brush into the glass jar by wetting only the tip and draw the desired line on your eyes,

6. Store the glass jar with the eyeliner in a cool place.

To prepare a larger quantity of black eyeliner, simply multiply the quantity of each ingredient proportionally.

With this recipe you will notice that this product, besides being healthy, animal-friendly and environmentally-friendly, is also inexpensive! Only advantages! 🙂

It’s time to say goodbye to the commercial eyeliners and start making your own eyeliner! Are you in?

Do not forget to share the result with me! See you later!
