Mayonnaise? Yes, please!

Who doesn’t love Mayonnaise? Mayonnaise with fries, mayonnaise in Russian salad, mayonnaise with meat, fish… Mayonnaise is such a versatile sauce which is compatible with any kind of dishes. Unfortunately, it’s not so healthy, especially the processed mayonnaise that we buy at the supermarket.

In this article I’ll show you how to prepare a healthy, entirely plant-based, raw “Mayonnaise”, made with natural ingredients, easy and quick to make, and of course delicious!


For this recipe, we’re going to use alkaline foods, that it to say, foods that help restore the PH balance in our body (it must be over 7,5 in a scale 0-14), reducing the acidic level in the body. This is the case of Lemon and Mustard.

On the other hand, we have cashews, nuts with great therapeutic and nutritional properties when used in its natural state, which means without being fried and salted. Cashews are rich in Omega 3 fatty acids and protein, one of the most important sources for those who follows a vegetarian or vegan diet. They also are high in minerals such as magnesium, iron, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, selenium and copper, as well as in vitamins A, E and K (antioxidants), C and D, and B-group vitamins (B2, B3, B5, B6 , B7, B9 and B12).


Healing Cooking combines the use of alkaline foods when consumed raw or in their natural state, since it’s in this state when we adequately absorb all the enzymes necessary for the proper functioning of our body, as well as all the nutrients that Nature offers us.

And, our friend Mortar couldn’t miss, as it’s one of the most important tools when it comes to Healing Cooking!

The use of the mortar in recipes allows to keep the colour, to enhance the smell and taste of foods, since with food processors what happens is that the molecules of the ingredients we use are broken, losing their original characteristics and qualities.

Energetically speaking, the use of food processors creates a state of agitation in our body that is also reflected in our mood. The less we use this machine, the greater benefits we will have for our holistic health.

Para a elaboração desta receita é importante a utilização de um almofariz grande, de forma a facilitar a moagem e mistura de todos os ingredientes.



  • 100g Cashews
  • 1 teaspoon of grounded Mustard
  • Juice of 2 lemons
  • Mineral Water q.b.
  • Salt q.b.


1. Soak cashews the night before;

2. Remove water and place all the ingredients in the mortar;

3. Grind all the ingredients adding water until we obtain a creamy consistence;

4. Add salt q.b.,

5. Place the mayonnaise in a glass container and store in the fridge.



Who would say that it is possible to prepare a healthy, nutritious and delicious “Mayonnaise” in just a few steps? There are no excuses for not eating mayonnaise without feeling guilty!
